各位親愛的台灣同鄉:

Dear friends,
On August 8th, 2009, Typhoon Morakot slammed into Taiwan and caused severe damages to infrastructure and properties, as well as claiming hundreds of human casualties. The impact far exceeded that of “921 Earthquake” ten years ago. Many Taiwanese people lost their families, homes, and livelihood. Many have gone without food, water and shelter for days. The TAGP (Taiwanese Association of Greater Portland) will team with other local Taiwanese groups to organize a fund raising music event to help the survivors and affected communities get back on their feet and return life to normalcy.
