We want to ask our community:

• What are times when you are healthy and happy?
• What factors lead to good health in your community?
• How can we strengthen the API voice in health advocacy?

We know that our culture shapes our health, and is a strength that supports us being healthy and happy. We also know that many of our API communities face serious health disparities, including language barriers and lack culturally competent care.  Health care reform is changing how over one million Oregonians will receive care, and impacting some of our most vulnerable community members.

Join us for an important community forum and opportunity to engage with policy-makers.  We invite community members, health professionals, faith leaders, and individuals who seek to share and learn about how the Asian and Pacific Islander community can engage in health equity. 

Key speakers and facilitators include:

• Representative Alissa Keny-Guyer, House Health Committee
• Dr. Connie Nguyen-Truong, OHSU and key researcher
• Holden Leung, Executive Director Asian Health and Service Center
• Emily Wang, Oregon Heatlh Authority Health Equity Policy Analyst

What to expect?

• Share your health stories
• Dialogue directly with important political decision-makers
• Learn about what is at stake for communities of color in Oregon.  
• Meet and build relationships with other API community members.
